William K. Witherspoon is a dedicated mental health professional and doctoral candidate in Mental Health and Human Development (Ed.D.) at American International College, with advanced graduate training in Crisis Response & Behavioral Health from William James College (2023). He earned his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from American International College (2019), his Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College (2017), and an Associate in Science in Law Enforcement from Springfield Technical Community College (2002).

With over 30 years of experience in Criminal Justice and more than 27 years working in Substance Use and Recovery services, Mr. Witherspoon brings a unique perspective that bridges public safety, clinical practice, and community mental health.

His professional expertise includes Crisis Intervention & Response, Justice-Involved Populations, Mental Health First Aid & Psychological First Aid, First Responder Support, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed & Person-Centered Care, Grief & Loss Counseling, Substance Use Disorders & PTSD

Mr. Witherspoon is deeply committed to advancing trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches that foster resilience, healing, and wellness in both individuals and communities.
